MiTAC Announces the latest MioWORK F840 rugged tablet for Fleet Professionals

Taoyuan, Taiwan, May 20, 2024 - MiTAC Digital Technology Corporation (MDT), a subsidiary of MiTAC Holdings Corporation (MHC, TWSE: 3706), today announces the global release of its new MioWORK F840 Fleet-ready rugged tablet for fleet professionals. Utilized with MDT’s self-developed management – MiBatteryPro battery monitoring application and the latest multi-channel video cradle, the MioWORK F840 offers a total solution for fleet managers to real-time driver monitoring and event video backup and maximize battery performance.

8’’ tablet for Fleet Management Scenarios

The new F840 is equipped with the Android 13 and a next-generation Qualcomm processor, promising an impressive 80% performance boost. Despite maintaining the same sleek dimensions as the F740s, the F840 boasts an 18% larger visible screen area, providing users with a significantly increasing the amount of information displayed on the screen.

Moreover, it comes with robust features such as IP54 ingression resistance, ensuring protection against dust and water ingress, and is drop-proof up to 1.2 meters (with the capability to withstand drops of up to 1.8 meters following MIL-STD-810G standards). Additionally, its shock resistance of up to 20G peaks, compliant with industrial automotive SAE-J1455 standards, makes it ideal for fleet environments. With an operating temperature range from -20°C to +60°C, the F840 is built to thrive even in extreme conditions, ensuring reliability and durability wherever you go.

Additionally, adapting to the practical scenario where drivers frequently plug and unplug devices while entering and exiting vehicles, the F840 boasts steadfast durability, proven through rigorous testing to withstand thousands of docking and undocking cycles.

 


The New Multi-Channel Video Cradle Supports up to Four Channel Camera

Catering to fleet management scenarios, the MioWORK F840 comes with a new multi-channel video cradle, enabling connection to four external cameras. Complemented by the existing interior camera on device, it empowers fleet managers to effortlessly gather real-time driving footage. With future integration of connecting technology and cloud services, the F840 anticipates enabling real-time image transmission and event video backups, further enhancing operational efficiency and data security. 

Self-developed Battery Management App for Real-time Battery Detection

In response to the escalating impact of global climate change, which has led to higher outdoor temperatures and increased damage to device batteries, the MioWORK F840 now features a groundbreaking battery swelling detection function. This feature, combined with the self-developed MiBatteryPro App, offers proactive monitoring and management of battery health. Integrated seamlessly with the MiDM mobile device management platform, it provides real-time insights into battery condition, mitigating risks associated with swelling and ensuring heightened driving safety.
